ART TRADE: Dungeons and Doggos
In today’s special edition, we’ve got some new adventurers to Handbook-World! It’s Laurel’s take on Pickles, Magnus, Zoey, and Tonka, the lovable canine crusaders from Dungeons and Doggos! Check out the other half of the art trade over here (I think that Fighter makes a natural golden retriever).
No long-winded pontificating today. It would mess up all the adorableness. Instead, let’s share our favorite puppydog tales from the tabletop. What is the most memorable doggo you’ve ever encountered in a game? Tell us all about those heroic blink dogs and dastardly hell hounds down in the comments!

Congratulations to Laurel, the dogs are great, they really looks like they are going on a quest. The different races with the clothes fit very well, they don’t look like when people put a cat or dog a sweater. Good job 🙂
It will be interesting to see if you can make cats these way, for curiosity’s sake and because i am more of a cat person 🙂
Cheers! Thanks for the kind words. But…Cats? Well there’s no accounting for taste I guess.
Fair enough though. Have you got any good cat stories from your in-game exploits then?
Do you have a problem with cats?
(remember yesterday comic)
You really have a problem with cats!!! Poor Magus!!! 🙁
And no, i don’t have any good cat stories. Why? bacause i like cats and my stories always involve someone getting hurt or suffering or getting maimed or something awful or terrible but funny for my evil and wicked sense of humor 🙂
There is a difference between cat-like and cat:

Says the man who make a giant step on Magus :/
Cages and Cats.
Sounds like an all rogues party. =P
The cats with sweaters?
“Check out this blink dog with no nose!”
“How does he smell?”
“Lawful!”
You know that awful sound coming from outside? That’s my groan coming from several time zones away.
Favorite doggo tales? Wouldn’t be complete without shout-outs to Shoggy the Seldom-Dog!

Hmmm the closest I’ve come to having any dog tails (not sorry) is applying for a game where my Ranger’s animal companion was going to be a puppy half-winter wolf.
Easier to clean up when he piddles on the carpet I guess. You just pick up the ice cubes.
Fighter: “GUYS MY DEX JUST INCREASED BY 4!”
Mr. Stabby: “Treats, treats, treats!”
Adorable doggos have long been a staple of the handbook. I mean, just look at Antipaladin’s pet and Ranger’s family.
Anywho, on to the story. The party was exploring the dungeon when they came across an enchanted maze that summoned random extraplanar critters (usually of the aggressive fiendish variety) whenever they hit a dead end. However a single celestial dog appeared at one point. It looked scared and wanted to tag along, but the party had its suspicions.
The “totally a celestial doggo and 200% not a disguised evil monster” was at the front of the party and held at spell-point, until the adventurers hit another dead end and more monsters appeared. When the herd of fiendish boars were summoned and gunned it for the dog, it became clear that it was indeed just a scared celestial pup that was summoned there by accident. The boars lined up for a charge, but the party refused to throw the dog under the proverbial bus.
The monsters charged and were about 5 feet from the party, when they were stopped in their tracks with a dull “thud”, slamming against an invisible barrier like bugs against a windshield. Behind them, the party heard a deep, echoing voice say, “You have been judged… and found worthy.” The “pup” stepped into the fore, now with a beefy humanoid body and wielding a greataword, and stuck one of the demon pigs like… well, a pig. The hound archon helped the party take care of the other monsters, lead them to the maze’s exit, and even made them an everburning torch as a token of appreciation for standing against the forces of evil.
If the username is any indication, helping doggos in my games is a wise choice indeed.
lol. I was wondering if it would tie into your username. Nice!
